Immanuel Gilen
Immanuel Gilen Chief Financial Officer
Immanuel, a native of Belgium, works on Iris Development’s deal sourcing, analysis and structuring, asset management, and the team’s public and private financing relationships. Prior to co-founding the company, his experience includes ground-up development of both affordable and market-rate housing with Gilen Residential Projects. In his capacity as Financial Director, he oversaw the development of several hundred housing units in projects ranging from single-family to large multifamily, most of which in affordable and market homeownership.
He also brings extensive experience with various affordable housing subsidy programs and public RFP processes, as well as deal structuring and asset management from positions with Carthage Advisors, a leading New York-based developer of workforce housing, and The Cogsville Group, one of the nation’s pre-eminent emerging private equity investment firms.
Immanuel holds a B.S. in Managerial Economics from Bentley University and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, where he was a post-graduate William Kinne Fellow.
